Abstract

to describe the role of the nurse in risk classification using the Manchester Protocol. Method: integrative literaturereview, consisting of publications from the Virtual Health Library (VHL) database. Todevelop it, the following descriptor swere used: “nursing” and “patienttriage” - researched in Portuguese Exclusively. Results: most of the works were published in 2015 in the journals of the Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem and in the Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP. Of the studies, 04 investigations were retrieved from Scielo. Conclusion: When describing the role of the nurse in riskclassification using the Manchester Protocol, it is clear that the implementation of such a protocol allows for speedy care in urgent and emergency care in thevarious care centers. It is concluded that the nurse's role in risk classification using the Manchester Protocol becomes important when using an indispensable tool to provide greaterdynamism, reduce the physical and mental exhaustion of professionals and promote improved care according to with the needs presented by sick people.
